Promat has over 50 years of experience in passive fire protection of structures in the construction, hydrocarbon and tunnelling industries.

For the Construction industry, Promat has provided protection against cellulosic fires for structural steel and concrete multi-storey buildings, hospitals, airports and similar framed structures for over 50 years. Over 30 million m² of building structures have been protected.

For the Petrochemical industries, Promat is a World leader in providing protection against hydrocarbon pool and jet fires in on-shore petrochemical and power plants and off-shore oil and gas installations. Over 4 million m² of on-shore structures and over 3 million m² of off-shore installations have been protected.

For the Tunnel industry, Promat has carried out pioneering work in the fire resistance of rail and road tunnels, particularly in preventing concrete lining from spalling, and steel or cast iron linings from weakening. Over 1 million m² of linings have been protected.
